Momenta vs disposable cameras
A disposable camera app vs real disposable cameras
Disposable cameras on every table are a wedding classic. They are also expensive once you add developing, they run out fast, and some never come back. Here is what they really cost, and what a disposable camera app gives you instead.
The math
What one camera per table costs
One camera per table of 10, at about $22 each plus about $15 to develop and scan, with 27 shots per camera. Momenta at its current one-time price, with 10 shots for every guest.
| Guests | Disposable cameras | Cost with developing | Photos, at most | Momenta | Photos, at most |

Where they fall short
- Developing takes days or weeks, and you pay for every roll.
- 27 shots per table run out early; some cameras get lost or come back half empty.
- Dark reception photos often come out black or blurry.
What Momenta changes
- Every guest gets their own camera, on the phone they already carry.
- The same no-peeking magic: the photos reveal when you choose, usually the next morning.
- Every photo lands in one album, ready to download, with nothing to develop.

FAQ
Questions
How many disposable cameras do I need for a wedding?
The usual rule is one camera per table, so about one for every 8 to 10 guests. Each camera has 27 shots, so a 100-guest wedding gets at most around 270 photos, before lost cameras and dark shots.
How much do disposable cameras cost for a wedding?
Expect about $20 to $25 per camera, plus about $15 to $20 to develop and scan each one. For 10 tables that is roughly $350 to $450.
How much does Momenta cost?
Momenta is free for up to 10 guests. For bigger events you add guests with a one-time in-app purchase, sized to your guest count. There is no subscription.
Do my guests need to download an app?
On iPhone, no: guests scan the QR code and Momenta opens instantly as an App Clip, without installing anything. On Android, guests install the free Momenta app from Google Play for now; uploading from the browser, with no app, is coming soon.
